Using my training as Inclusion Lead, I provide sensitivity reading for publishers, literary agents, authors and literary estates, helping to identify content that may unintentionally perpetuate harmful stereotypes, reinforce bias, or cause unnecessary offence. Whether assessing a forthcoming publication, a previously published novel, or an author's wider body of work, I produce a detailed report offering thoughtful, constructive feedback while respecting the integrity of the text.
My assessment may consider, but is not limited to, the portrayal of race, ethnicity, religion, LGBTQ+ identities, violence against women and girls (VAWG), disability, mental health, xenophobia, harmful stereotyping and other areas of representation and inclusion.
